Thomas Branstone Testing Village

We hold in our hearts the sword and the faith
Swelled up from the rain clouds, move like a wraith
Well after all, we'll lie another day
And through it all
We'll find some other way
To carry on through cartilage and fluid
And did you come to stare, or wash away the blood?
For centuries people have been talking, talking about other people that are different from the rest. Ones with special powers. At one time they even burned people at the stake that they believed had these special powers, or magic as they called it. They killed a lot of innocent people doing so, and some not-so-innocent people. Later, as technology advanced -at least slightly- they sent those kinds of people, ones claiming they had powers and people that others claimed had powers, to Asylums or Institutions. But that’s all changing now.Well tonight, well tonight
Will it ever come?
Spend the rest of your days
Rocking out just for the dead
Well tonight
Will it ever come?
I can see you awake anytime, in my head
In New York the government has started something new. They want to see how these powers work, why people have them, and what it would be like if you made them live in their own little villages. Anyway’s, they might be harmful to us. They aren’t really ‘human’ after all, not in the governments eyes. No, as soon as they find out you have powers, you aren’t protected by the law. They don’t care about people with powers, they aren’t normal, so why should they? That’s their opinion anyway.Did we all fall down?
From the lights to the pavement
From the van to the floor
From backstage to the doctorFrom the Earth to the morgue
Morgue, morgue, morgue
Now the first ever testing village is up, named after the person who came up with the idea in the first place, Thomas Branstone. Any person with powers, even if they were in jail or if their parents, teachers, family, or friends turned them in, were sent here. It’s a complete village inside of one building. One huge building. It even has jobs for everyone, but they don’t use real money, money you can use if you escape, no they use something they call a ‘milla’ but to buy anything there, you have to use millas. You can’t use real money. Each family shares an apartment, if someone doesn’t have any family, they get an apartment to themselves. Most families are just siblings that all have powers. Each apartment has a bedroom for each person, a kitchen, and a living room. They call each section of the building something different; ‘The Apartments’, ‘The Village’, ‘The Experimental Stations’ and they even have a school for the people that still go, called the ‘Learning Center’ or school. You aren’t treated like a human here, if you get in trouble you get sent to detention. Detention might not sound that bad, but trust me, it is, it is evil, they do everything from whipping, hanging you from the ceiling, to makeing you re-live your worst memories. Not only do they have that, but the staff, the doctors and scientists that work there to keep everything under control, do tests on the ‘residents’ so they can figure out how their powers work or why they got them. Oh, they claim this place is one of the best places to be. It isn’t. It’s a living nightmare.Well tonight
Will it ever come?
Spend the rest of your days
Rocking out just for the dead
Well tonight
Will it ever come?
I can see you awake anytime in my head
