Serafina pushed a cloud of hair out of her eyes and tried to pull the rest of it into a ponytail. It didn’t matter how terrible it looked, as long as it was semi-functional, which at that point in time, it wasn’t. She sighed, abandoning her attempts at making her hair look semi-decent, and continued her way down the steps; she was about halfway to the bottom. She kept her eyes on her feet, watching them rise and fall as she made the descent, blocking out the sounds of the few other campers who were around, most at the top of the hill, just talking loudly. Her shoes were not stair walking shoes, the heels were too tall and thing for most people’s balance, but by then it was second nature to Serafina. The soft, even clicking added to the slight hypnosis induced by her watching her feet.
She paused when she finally reached the bottom, she was about twenty minutes early, and she didn’t see anyone else waiting around for the class as of yet. She was happy about that, it meant she didn’t have to act perky so early, ish, in the morning; instead she could veg for a while all alone. Camp was a place where she was rarely alone, and usually she enjoyed that fact, but for some reason, on that particular morning, something was off, and she wasn’t really in the mood to deal with anyone, especially anyone who bothered her on a good day.
It was pretty, even a sour-mood Serafina had to admit that, but she was used to the beach and to the lake, it was all a regular routine to her now; it was almost a little boring. She knew exactly what she would do when she got to the bottom of the stairs, how long she would spend in the water, who she would talk to, and how often she would have to reapply her sunscreen. It was already hot, the sun was beating down on her back, despite the fact it was well covered for the time being, she dropped her bag; letting it fall with a quiet thud.
Her bad mood, or at least, lack of a good mood, kept her a little more on edge than usual. She sighed, and pulled her sundress over her head, quickly checking to make sure that her bottom covered everything and her top was still on. She grabbed her bottle of SPF 50 sunscreen and squirted some into her palm, rubbing it into her arms and legs viciously. Serafina hated the sun, and its stupid shining rays of cancer, beating down and wrinkling her skin and giving her liver spots and who knows what else. She was muttering to herself, going through the mental checklist of what else she had to do to keep herself from burning, or even tanning.
Serafina pushed her sunglasses up on her nose and sighed, adjusting her bikini top and settling herself on her towel, still waiting for the rest of the people to show up. She was never super early, but it was an OCD thing, just like how she had to disinfect her hands with Purell before she even thought about sunscreen and then again after she had applied. She heard someone on the steps, walking down and in her general direction, but she didn’t bother to turn and see who it was, that was a lot of effort. “Morning.” She said nonchalantly, leaning back onto her elbows and stretching out her legs. She hoped who ever it was wasn't feeling to chatty, she wasn't really in the mood for a conversation.

Olivia happily tripped down the steps that led to the lake, her flip-flops cheerfully clacking away as she went along. She was surprised at how happy she felt- usually, skipping breakfast made her irritable and grumpy. The only person she usually held civil conversation (let alone conversation to begin with) this early in the morning was Ryan. Still, the feeling of the slight breeze and the warm sun that cut through it was enough to make her cheerful this morning.
As soon as she reached the bottom, she dropped her bag, tightened the strings on her bikini and slipped off her skirt and top. She slyly looked around to see if there was anyone who would take notice of her body. As much as she preferred her dad over her mom at times, she would never stop being grateful for the good genes her mother gave her. She didn't see anyone of consequence to her, except her half-sister.
"Hi, Sera," Olivia said, pulling her platinum hair into a pony tail. "Have you heard from daddy yet? I got a letter this morning." As much as Olivia wanted to get along with her half-sibling, she couldn't help bating her. Maybe if Serafina wasn't so dismissive of her, she would be a little nicer. Still, that didn't stop her from not letting Serafina know that "hearing from daddy" meant a small "Daddy sends his love" scrawled at the bottom of a letter from her mother.

At the sound of her half-sister’s voice, Serafina frowned, but looked back over her shoulder at Olivia, smiling as sweetly as she could, it wasn’t that much of a smile, but it wasn’t like Olivia could really think Serafina was a morning person, a smiling, happy morning person. “Hello Olivia.” She said slowly, as though she was thinking about the words before she said them, there was nothing difficult about a greeting.
She sat up when she realized Olivia planned on talking. She sighed and raised her eyebrow, though it was concealed by her oversized Chanel sunglasses. “I can’t say that I have.” Serafina was a little annoyed, but she had her mother’s skill of effortless lying, and masking every emotion, “Not that it matters, I’m a big girl now, I don’t need Daddy to write me daily letters. I told him not to write me unless it was important.” It was too early for father competition, Serafina didn’t feel like dealing with this, but it always got her a little worked up.
“And how is, Daddy?” She smirked, and crossed her legs, leaning back again, comfortable, “Do you miss him and your Mommy already?” Serafina pushed her hair about of her eyes for the second time, letting it fall down her back, effortlessly. “If you're feeling homesick or something, you can always cry on my shoulder. That’s what sisters are for, right?”
She smiled broadly, and scratched her left arm. It was still pretty early in the morning and Serafina and Olivia were already headed towards a fight, and Serafina was just fine with that. She needed something interesting to happen, keep her from getting bored.

"Well," Olivia said, curling the ends of her ponytail around her finger. "I must admit that it is a little bit odd to be away from home," Olivia said, knowing she was going to be mean, but she couldn't help it. As much as she wanted to have a sisterly bond with Serafina, she just couldn't do it. "You know, having both of my parents around all the time. But my mom is fine, and Daddy seems to be doing good as well. He didn't seem to mention you in his letter, should I send your regards anyway?"
Olivia began to stretch out. She was a bit envious that their father's height seemed to have been completely alotted to Serafina, leaving Olivia barely past her sister's shoulders. Still, she figured that being petite suited her better- plus, though small, she definitely had more curves than her sister.
"Anyway," Olivia said, taking a break from comparing herself with her sister. "I'm glad to be away. The parents are in a flurry- they want another baby, before it's too late, so I'm glad to be out of the house." In truth, it was only her mother who wanted another child, but she figured it would be a dig to Serafina to know there might be a second person to compete against for their father's attention.

Serafina watched Olivia, looking at her blankly through her sunglasses, glad she had them on for more that just the sun protection. “Of course its hard for you to be away, so used to mummy and daddy and family time.”A slight hint of bitterness rang in her voice, it wasn’t Serafina’s fault her parents weren’t married, it wasn’t Olivia’s either. Well, maybe if Camilla had been barren, Trent would have gone back to Aria. And therefore, it was Olivia’s fault. She exhaled, carefully formulating her words before saying anything.
“If you must, you can tell Dad I said hello. And your mother, send her a big kiss from me too.” Serafina was still watching Olivia, and smiled a little when she remembered their height different, “You know Liv, it looks like you’ve put on a few pounds, maybe you should start skipping meals, I hear its very effective for getting rid of those nasty little stomach pooches.” She looked meaningfully at her sister, “Not that I would know,” she patted her obnoxiously flat stomach, flexing her abs a little as she did, “I’ve never had a weight problem.”
“I’m sure it will be very easy to knock Cammie up.” [/b]The idea of another spawn was frightening, Serafina wasn’t sure if she could deal with another Olivia, at least she’d be very far away for most of spawn’s life. But even felt bad for her mother, another Trent and Camilla baby would kill Aria. “She seems very, fertile.” Serafina shrugged, keeping the well-meaning-big-sister façade up, “and besides, if worse comes to worst, she can always give Leo a call. It worked last time, there was just a little problem in timing, but daddy’s in town, so he’d never know the difference. Would he?” [/size]

Olivia kind of froze up at the harshness of a double insult from her half-sister. "My mother may have made a slight error in judgement, when she was going through a really difficult point in her life," Olivia said, grabbing for her tank top and pulling it over her head and as down as it could to cover her stomach. "But at least she isn't psychotic and bitter like your mother."
Olivia could feel the tears already stinging her eyes. She hated it when someone brought up Matteo's origins. She didn't hate her half-brother, she just hated what he represented- he was the blemish on her parents' seemingly perfect marriage. Still, Olivia willed herself not to cry.
"At least if I go home to another sibling, my parents will still remember I exist," Olivia said, gathering her stuff to make a quick escape, perhaps to Ryan, perhaps to go throw up the Twizzler she had for breakfast. "Your mom is too drunk to even realize you're there half the time. And you're going to end up alone and bitter like her. So you can cut it out with the sunscreen, you're going to look disgusting no matter what you do."
Olivia began to fold up her towel to stuff it into her bag and walk away. She knew her insults were lame, but she just didn't have it in her to be cruel.

“A slight error?” Serafina laughed, “A slight error is putting the darks and the lights in the same load while washing clothes Olivia, your mother fucked another man while Dad was away. And what was so hard about her life anyway? Didn’t she have enough fun ruining other people’s?” She was fuming and even her usual masking of emotions wasn’t working, Serafina Finn, was pissed. “Don’t bother with the shirt; you still look like a cow.” Serafina ignored the first comment about Aria, even Serafina knew her mother wasn’t all right in the head, there was the strike system, and Olivia had one strike now. The second one hit deeper, “Don’t bring my mother into this, she has nothing to do with your side of the family tree, all that is on your mother’s shoulders. I wonder, what she and Leo get up to when they’re alone?” She frowned, “Still friendly perhaps?”
“Dad can’t trust your mom, can he? Even if they had another kid,” She asked, standing up when Olivia did, this wasn’t over, Serafina had to have the final word. “He’ll never know if its really his, and it will eat him up, slowly but surely, eventually Daddy will crack. And it will be all your mom’s fault.”
Her mind wasn’t working right, Serafina usually didn’t let herself get this worked up, but there was just something about Olivia, and that morning that really got to her, she couldn’t deal with it, “You don’t even know my mother, you can’t say anything about her…” she was getting emotionally invested in the conversation, it was a bad idea, “my mother may be bitter, but she has me, and my mom has never done anything to break dad’s trust…..has she? I’d rather end up like Aria than like your whore of a mother.” She paused, and took a deep breath, catching up to Olivia easily and grabbing her arm so she couldn’t storm away just yet, “One day, I may be disgusting, but at least I’m not now. Have you looked in the mirror lately? Your fat has taken on a life of its own.”
“Sort of sad really, your mom tried so hard to keep you skinny, tried to get you to be a ballerina just like her, but it didn’t work out.” She sighed, pretending to be a concerned sister again, “Too bad, instead she got you. I think she would have preferred a daughter like me, one who could wear a leotard without looking like a sausage in spandex.”
[ooc: sausage in spandex, that's what one of my old ballet teachers called one of the girls in my class, it was awful we were 8, the girl started crying and 3 of us left the class after that. Anyway, just thought I'd explain my odd phrase.]

Olivia could feel herself approaching hysterics. She felt the tears rushing down her face. She didn't even know what to do. She felt disgusting. Was she really as big as Serafina said? "Don't you dare say anything about my mother!" Olivia yelled, not caring that everyone else was staring at them. "She has been nothing but nice to you, how dare you insult her?"
She wiped at her face with her hands. "And don't kid yourself and think that my mother would like you better," Olivia said. "Your own father doesn't even like you best, even though you were born first. And now matter how awful what my mother did was, Daddy will always love her more than he ever loved you and your mother. And once the new baby is here, he won't even care if he sees you or not."
Olivia knew this wasn't true- though she was sure her father didn't love Aria, she knew he thought of her and her sister equally. Of her mother, she wasn't sure- something had changed from what she remembers before Matteo's birth. And though she knew that a new baby would never make her father forget Serafina, she hoped it would help her parents' situation.
She knew her insults were immature, but she was shocked beyond coherent response at the nastiness of her half-sister.

For a split second, the sister mode kicked in, and Serafina almost felt guilty, seeing Olivia crying. But then, she didn’t care, it was all Olivia’s fault, everything was stupid Olivia’s fault. “Your mother hates me Livvy, and you know it.” Serafina screamed back, the scene the two of them were making was a little bit over the top, but most people stayed a few yards away, for their own safety. “So don’t play the my mommy’s nice card, because it doesn’t work with me.” Serafina pulled off her sunglasses, and threw them like some child in a tantrum, “Daddy will always love me more.” She mocked, her voice high and clear, though her throat was dry and she felt like sobbing, it wasn’t over just yet. “I’m Daddy’s favorite because he married my mommy.”
“WRONG SWEETIE!” She hissed, stepping closer to Olivia so that her face was only a few inches away, “Every time dad looks at you, he sees what your mom did to him, and he wonders, if your really his too.” She smiled sweetly, and cocked her head to the side, thinking, “Are you? We don’t look alike, that’s for sure. And I have the DNA tests to prove he's my dad. Well, we’re both blonde but so are another 2 billion people, I’m tall, like dad, your short, like your mother….you never know.” She wiped at her eyes, despite her icy voice she was crying, just a little, but it was enough to embarrass her, she sighed, again with the stupid baby “There won’t be another baby you idiot.”
“He won’t just forget about me!” Serafina chocked out, her words getting a little disjointed and her voice was slowly becoming more and more hurried, “He loves me, and I…” She stopped, glaring at Olivia, wishing every ill in the world on her, “he didn’t need another daughter, he already had one, he had me.” Serafina was shaking, her mind was racing and all she wanted to do was run home to her mother, no matter how much she hated her, “we didn’t need you.”

Olivia felt like throwing up as Serafina spoke. What if she was right? What if her father didn't think she was his either?
"You're wrong!" Olivia said, knowing that no matter what her sister said, she was at least wrong about that. "Daddy knows I'm his, you know why? Because I was wanted! You were a mistake! Your own mother didn't want you and my father certainly did it. That's why him and my mother had me so soon after, so he would have a legitimate daughter to show everyone, to be proud of, to cover up you."
Olivia knew this wasn't true. She just wanted to hurt Serafina as badly as she had hurt her. "You were an accident, and I corrected it. I made everything better."

For the first time in her entire life, Serafina was speechless, she couldn’t think of a single thing to say. Olivia had just brought it to life, the one thing Serafina always feared, but no one ever mentioned it in her presence. But everyone wondered it, especially Serafina. Did her parents really want her? Maybe it would have turned out better if she hadn’t of been born. The tears poured down her face, as she tried to think of something to say, something that would cut deep, but she couldn’t fathom anything that would hurt Olivia enough.
“They wanted me.” She said softly, her voice cracking a little, she was almost whispering, it didn’t really matter what she said, the seed had been planted. “My mother, and dad, they wanted me, if they hadn’t,” she was still shaking, still sobbing, all she wanted to do was slap Olivia, just slap her and slap her hard, but she couldn’t even move, “if they didn’t want me, they could have just, they could have gotten rid of me.” It hurt, and made her feel a little sick saying it. “I’m not a mistake.” She buried her face in her hands, trying to hide it from Olivia, damn Olivia, damn everyone.
Serafina looked up again, the tears still rolling down her face, but she was angry now, "shut up Olivia.” She hissed, taking the few steps to bridge the gap between them, “listen to me, just keep that God damned mouth of yours closed before I….” She stopped, and looked at her half-sister, eye to eye, and before she even realized what she was going, she raised her hand and slapped her, full across the face, as hard as she could. It stung her hand, and she prayed it would hurt Olivia more, “just shut up, why wouldn't you just shut up?” She was sobbing again, her hands shaking and her throat too dry and busy choking to be able to emit any sort of sound; the hitting didn’t make her feel any better, well maybe just a little.

Olivia brought her hand up to her cheek, almost in shock. She had never gotten into a fist fight before in her life. She had play fought with Ryan and Matteo and the other boys growing up, but never had she been hit by anyone else. The tears running down her face made her cheek sting even more, and before she knew it, she was shoving Serafina.
It didn't have much of an effect, as the older sister was also several inches bigger than the younger, but Olivia didn't care. "You're an evil bitch!" she screamed at Serafina, not caring that she would get repremanded for her language later. "I hate you more than anything in the world."

Serafina stumbled, glad she had taken off her heels already, she couldn’t believe she was fighting, really fighting with Olivia, sure they had screamed and yelled at each other on a weekly basis, but she had never hit Olivia, and Olivia had never hit back.
“I may be an evil bitch, but I can admit it!”Serafina screamed to the best of her abilities, her voice too raw to make a sound much louder than a hoarse whisper. “You still pretend like you’re little miss innocent.”
Serafina wanted to storm off, dramatically, but there was the slight matter of the 200 plus stairs, and she didn’t feel like climbing them, “But you aren’t, you just as much of a bitch as I am, get used to it.” She closed her eyes, squeezing out the tears, hoping she would just stop crying. “You can’t even begin to imagine how much more I hate you, Olivia, you have no idea.”
“You ruined everything.” Serafina wasn’t sure if she said it out loud, or if she was too tired and hoarse to say it. She looked up, still crying, barely noticing she small crowed of semi-concerned people who had gathered at the foot of the stairs.

"No, you did," Olivia said, too tired to think coherently. "I was the solution to the problem you created. I'm the one Daddy's proud of, the one he shows off. Who in their right mind would be proud of you, with your drunken mother and dodgy origins?"
Olivia felt sick to her stomach. She had never been so nasty to anyone in her life. She knew her father would probably be so angry if he knew how the girls were talking to each other, but at that moment she couldn't bring herself to care.
"No one loves you, Terpy," Olivia said. "Your father doesn't care about you and your mother is too drunk to notice that you're alive."

Noelle had a huge headache. Meaning, really big. Like migrane sized. And Serafina's and Ollivia's annoying screeches weren't exactly helping. She sighed and stood up, walking over to the two of them. "Will you both shut the fck up? Honestly, you're like two, annoying little kids who just never be quiet! Most of us have gotten over sibling rivalry by now." Noelle was stunned at what came out of Olivia's mouth.
"Olivia!" She gasped, eyes wide. "That's completely bitchy!" She breathed, looking at Serafina for her reaction. Ouch. That one had to have hurt. Noelle knew how it felt when anyone mentioned her mom...
